PHILOSOPHY
The Standard American Diet is meat, dairy, white flour, white sugar and caffeine. These food are all acid foods that contribute to the rise in heart disease, cancer, diabetes and obesity. Disease lives in an acid environment and when we eat foods that are more alkaline like fruits and vegetables, our body chemistry changes and we are less susceptible to disease. When we focus on building our immune system with a healthy lifestyle our body is better able to resist disease. Louis Pasteur, the father of the "germ theory" said on his death bed, "the microbe is nothing, the terrain (internal environment) is everything." We need to shift our focus from disease care to preventative health care. This is achieved by living a healthy lifestyle, and our choice of foods is a big part of that equation. |
